First Out of Town Trip

Well, it was an adevnture thats or sure. It took all my professional packing skills to fit all the stuff that we took to Houston into the car and still have enough room for Jessica, Dylan and myself. Of course the four legged kids had the most room, with the entire back to themselves. Here is a picture of Samson nice and stretched out.

Everyone was so excited to meet Dylan for the first time. He was held so much that when we got home he did not want to calm down and sleep, he just wanted to be held. We had such a good time, we just wish it could have been longer, and so does all the family.

Dylan One Month and Counting

Today was both Dylan and Jessica's one month check ups. We had Dylan's first and we are proud to say that he weighed in at 9 lbs. 3.5 oz., and 21 1/2 inches long. The Dr. said he has moved up from the 25th percentile at birth to the 50th now, which we are extremely happy about. They did have to give him is second HEP B vaccine today, which was not pleasent watching. We also had to have his Jaundice tested again because he is still a little yellow, but they are not worried.

Jessica's appointment went good as well. They said everything looks great and that she can have a little more activity, which she is so happy about because she wants to be able to go out with Dylan for longer walks.

Here are a couple new pictures we have taken, not too much though.

Dylan's First Bath in Tub

Dylan's belly button finally fell off on Friday last week, so that means we can bath him in the little tub we have instead of on a pad on the counter. We were very excited, and so was Dylan as you will see. He actually took to it pretty good. We are going to be bathing him again tonight, but will only post if something crazy happens.

Everything has been going great with all of us. Valerie, Steve and Marie came down this weekend to see Dylan. We all had a great time. We will post some pictures of the weekend.

Since Dylan has been eating liek a champ lately, we decided to weigh him tonight and he cam in at a wopping 8 lbs. 9 oz. (according to our scale anyway). So he is gaining weight like crazy. Well I think that's it for now.

Samson, Lilly & Dylan

We have had several people ask how Samson and Lilly are taking to the new addition to the family, and are glad to report that it is going great. They were a little weirded out at first, but they are slowly coming around. Samson thought we were hurting Dylan whenever he cried, so Samson would cry as well (a little annoying), and Lilly wouldn't eat. They have since gotten a lot better. Here is a video of them prior to bringing Dylan home, and I will post one of them since.

Dylan Trying to Crawl

Dylan was extremely cranky the other night so we decided to pull out one of his play mats and let him have a little tummy time. As you can see, he is trying very hard to get somewhere, but just can't make it.

2 Week Dr. Visit

We went to the Dr. yesterday for both Jessica and Dylan. Our pediatrician likes to schedule all of the well child check-ups in the morning and the sick visits in the afternoon. This makes it very easy because we usually get in and out.

The two week check basically consists of a general check-up, weight and height, that sort of thing; as well as another newborn screening test to make sure that they did not miss anything from the one at the hospital.

Dylan weighed in at 7 lbs. 7 oz., and 20 1/2 in. long, which means he has gained 12 oz. and 1 1/4 inches since birth. We are very excited, because the doctor gave us the okay to let him sleep as long as he wants, but that we just need to make sure he eats 8 times in a 24 hour period.

Last night was our first test at this and he did pretty well. We gave him his normal feeding at 11 pm, he woke up at about 2:30 ready for more and then slept all the way to 6 am. We are sure it will take a little while for him to realize we are not waking him up to feed him.

Jessica's check-up went great as well. The nurse removed all of her sterile dressings that covered the incision. It all looks great and they told her that she can drive now and a little of activity is okay, but to not over due it. Jessica is very excited because she was getting a little stir crazy just being in the house all day.
